Alexi Murdoch + Sam Amidon

The British singer-songwriter Alexi Murdoch may be best known for his hit "Orange Sky," but his more recent work is far better. His second album, Towards the Sun, expunges any hint of soft rock, supplanting it with a confident minimalism and songs that unfurl at a dreamlike crawl. Sam Amidon, an arty singer-songwriter who can bring a bag of tricks—films, drawings and whatnot—opens.
