Alex Newell at Tavern on the Green

The remarkable Alex Newell, best known for their four-year stint as trans student Unique Adams on Glee, has a voice of astonishing range and force, as they proved anew in their show-stealing performance as the goddess Asaka in the 2018 Broadway revival of Once on This Island.
