Abyssinian: A Gospel Celebration

Wynton Marsalis has drawn liberally upon music of the African American church at several points in his career, but never more so than in Abyssinian 200: A Celebration, his 2008 long-form work for Harlem's Abyssinian Baptist Church. This week he revisits that music in the company of conductor Damien Sneed and his Chorale Le Chateau, who perform with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
