As part of its 30th-anniversary festivities this spring, Harlem Stage celebrates the legacy of New York hip-hop crew a Tribe Called Quest with a three-day series of musical performances and panel discussions. Thursday’s free "Footprints" event has hip-hop scholars and artists talking about ATCQ’s legacy, while Friday’s Excursions show at Aaron Davis Hall features the Revive Da Live Big Band reworking the hits, with an after-show party based around the Native Tongues collective (De La Soul, the Jungle Brothers, Monie Love and more). Saturday’s a treat too: The J Dilla Ensemble celebrates the work of the late, great producer, who shaped work by ATCQ, Erykah Badu and Common. What a great way to show respect.
