Raise a pint (or maybe something stronger) for the lead guitarist of the Grateful Dead, who would've been 76 today. If there was any question about his legacy, just look around: There's no shortage of major group's citing his influence, to say nothing of the numerous Grateful Dead–related events happening around town all summer. Look for small uptick in amount of tie-dye on the subway to mark his birthday. The annual Meet-Up at the Movies, for example, uses the occassion for its annual big-screen concert-film viewings. At Brooklyn Bowl, a tribute band named the Garcia Project does their thing recreating Jerry Garcia Band sets live. They'll be joined here by singer-guitarist Ryan Montbleau.
