Flop connoisseurs will flip for this bona fide rarity: a 1978 backstage musical by the Bye Bye Birdie songwriters Lee Adams and Charles Strouse, inspired by their experience writing the 1964 musical Golden Boy. The original production, with a book by William F. Brown (The Wiz), lasted just one night on Broadway. Now it gets a second chance—if only for one more night—in a concert staging directed by Robert W. Schneider. The cast includes Jason Graae, Clifton Davis, Major Attaway, Neva Small, Kyle Scatliffe, Glory Crampton, Sarah Routh Ellis and, from the original cast, the sly Larry Marshall.
