New York's longest-running short comedy film series—it stretches back to April 2002—this monthly movie night takes its name from an outré 1925 slapstick short featuring Buster Keaton in redface.
Hosted by Jay Stern and Victor Varnado, The Iron Mule screens at The Slipper Room on the first Monday of the month, bringing with its short comedy films from around the world, including a current lineup that includes Kevin Mezick’s 2004, Amirhossein Ajalli’s The Illusionist, Peter Collier’s Nose and Ears, and more. Following the screenings, stick around for an afterparty to mingle with the filmmakers and other movie fans.
