Time Out says

This summer, JAPAN CUTS—the largest Japanese film festival in North America—is back in New York City. See their two major premieres based on popular manga, or check out their other 30+ films across 12 days. If you like seeing major blockbuster films, supporting up-and-coming filmmakers, weeping over indie films, or checking out documentaries (or anime, experimental and short films, or restorations, they really do have it all), browse their lineup and secure yourself a ticket before it’s too late. Events run from now through July 21 at Japan Society.

Among the festival’s lineup are three international premieres, 14 North American premieres, five U.S. premieres, three east coast premieres, and four New York premieres. Additionally, JAPAN CUTS will present two guests with the CUT ABOVE Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film and a Lifetime Achievement Award, plus host three parties throughout the festivities.
