Time Out says

The first and longest-running festival dedicated to showcasing the moving image work by media artists of Asian descent for and about the Asian diaspora experience, the Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) is back for its 47th year. Expect 18 world premieres, 27 East Coast premieres and 15 New York premieres.

Lineup standouts include the opening night film Nobuko Miyamoto: A Song in Movement, directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Tadashi Nakamura and Emmy-nominated Vietnamese filmmaker Quyên Nguyen-Le; a staged reading of the 2024 Asian American International Screenplay Competition winner MISSUS, written by Marissa Carpio; and this year's short block, How to Live as an Asian Woman in NYC, featuring local filmmakers "who serve as your guide to the dizzying and difficult ways of living and thriving as an Asian woman in New York City."

Along with the screenings, the festival will host red carpets, filmmaker Q&As and online programming for those who can't make it in person. Programming runs from August 1-11.
