The most important point about The Holland Hotel is that it is right across the street from the Holland Tunnel toll booths. Seriously, it is right there. This is either exactly what you need, or exactly what you don’t need. So choose accordingly. The property is a no-frills affair—“a straightforward motor lodge”—but it’s on this list because the staff make an effort and it gets good reviews. Its 71 rooms feature “traditional” decor but you do have mini fridges and microwaves to play with. Not only that, check out what you get for free: parking, wi-fi, buffet breakfast, newspapers… it’s all free, free, free! It’s a half mile to the PATH train, but that’s okay—you’re here because you’re driving, aren’t you?
