When it comes to fashion, one day you’re in and the next day you’re out. Never have those words been truer than in reference to this brand-new, 280-room, fashion-themed Wyndhamhotel, located appropriately in the heart of the Garment District. Even Nina would be impressed with the smorgasbord of details and textures that make up the interior: The reception desk resembles an antique cutting room table; the complimentary Astor chocolates that sit on guests’ pillows are shaped like buttons; there’s a Mondrian-inspired art installation made entirely of thread spools in the lobby; and the corridors are lined with photography by FIT students. The design of the rooms themselves was inspired by men’s suits—there’s pin-striped carpeting, crisp white Frette linens and polka-dot roll pillows. Fashionable hotel guests will have extra motivation to dress to impress, as hotel staffers will reward one best-dressed guest a day with a free room upgrade and a snapshot on the hotel’s blog. Rooms start at $299 a night through June 31.
