This is Saloon’s third location since it opened in 1981. After outgrowing its space twice it has upgraded to twelve stations, and finally seems big enough. For now, that is. While customers rave about the cuts ($45 and up) and blowouts (from $25), highlights ($85 and up), lowlights and color jobs (starting at $65) rightfully get the most hype. Colorists are trained by the salon owner and are certified by Redken, which is the exclusive brand used here. This is also one of the few salons in the city to partner with Locks of Love (donors get free cuts, as long as their snippings meet the ten-and-a-half-inch minimum length).
