The sleek silver-and-blue lobby of this spacious, minimalist spa looks like a Duane Reade from the year 2075: macho beauty products, such as Nickel’s own Super Clean body scrub ($26) and Sebastian Microweb Fiber texturizing cream ($19), are neatly displayed on illuminated white shelves. Push past the futuristic apothecary to the eight navy-hued treatment rooms, however, and you’ll promptly be brought back to the here and now. Offerings run the gamut from ubiquitous (deep-tissue massages $60–$155; manicures $22–$30) to crazy-unique, like the Jet-Lag treatment (one hour for $110), designed to align your circadian rhythm with the eastern time zone through body brushing, deep-tissue body massage and ayurvedic scalp prodding. Should the elephant-size photo of a youthful male model plastered in the entryway make you feeling self-conscious about your looks, rest assured: Nickel’s vast array of facials—including a glow-inducing oxygen variety ($115) and an exfoliating Pumpkin and Papaya Enzyme Peel ($120)—will keep your visage in tip-top shape.
