Gobble more than 20 different hot-dog samples prepared by amateur chefs at this alfresco cook-off. Wacky toppings in previous years have included beer jelly and pimenton-dusted Fritos. Professionals compete separately on the “pro row,” where restaurants such as Mile End and Gramercy Tavern will craft their own haute riffs. Gorge on unlimited samples of amateur-made franks, Steve’s Ice Cream, Grady’s Cold Brew coffee and KBBK kombucha; one bite of a pro-row frank; and four pours of Kelso Nut Brown Lager or Belgian Pale Ale for $45; or upgrade to the $75 ticket for unlimited grub, Kelso refills and Bulldog Gin cocktails. Proceeds benefit Food Bank for New York City.
