The cool-kid food-and-music extravaganza is back in Brooklyn for its second year, kicking off with a Friday night concert, headlined by NYC alt-rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Flaming Lips, and a marathon lineup of grub from a whopping 85 joints. Hardcore aficionados of pizza, burgers or bacon can pig out in specially themed areas such as Hamageddon—the fiery porcine place where newbies Pig and Khao, Pork Slope and the Meatball Shop offer gut-busting tributes to pork. Turn down the heat with your choice of 100 wines and 75 brews, poured by the city’s finest watering holes: Corkbuzz will serve Chartogne Taillet Le Rosé in the vino tent, and Brooklyn Brewery will have a saison: the Radius. While you dine and drink the day away, 20 music acts–including Brooklyn indie-rock duo Matt & Kim on Saturday and the soulful Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings on Sunday–will rock out on multiplestages, and trailblazing toques like Daniel Boulud (Daniel) will show off their culinary chops in live cooking demos. An extra $80 upgrades you to the buzzed-about VIP Cocktail Experience curated by Julie Reiner (Flatiron Lounge), complete with tipples prepared by seasoned barkeeps from the Dead Rabbit and Death & Company. If you want in, buy now—tickets went on sale March 28 and will be gone before you can say "GoogaMooga."
