Join author and James Beard Award–winning bartender Dale DeGroff (The Craft of the Cocktail, The Essential Cocktail) for an evening of stories and songs about his time at some of the city's legendary watering holes. There will be tales of working and carousing at bars like P.J. Clarke's and McSorley's, along with a fun history lesson on the evolution of the cocktail, from Prohibition to the present day. In between stories, DeGroff and musician Joel Perry will sing and play the guitar, while you tap your feet and enjoy gratis tipples and small bites. Try the Yuzu Gimlet (one of DeGroff's creations), made with Plymouth Gin, yuzu juice, lime and honey syrup. Or sip an Absinthe Frappe, prepared with Pernod Absinthe and Marie Brizard Anisette, while munching on mushroom-and-truffle croquettes. There's a $10 discount if you purchase two tickets or more, so grab a companion and spend an evening with the king of the cocktail.
