On July 24, Time Out and Herradura partied down for National Tequila Day at the ballroom of the new Martha Washington Hotel (29 E. 29th St). More than 250 Time Out readers turned out to taste signature Herradura cocktails provided by four featured bars: Chevela's, Tanner Smith's, Grey Lady and Zona Rosa. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres by Marta, a live agave harvesting, and music spun by DJ Mosco.
At the end of the evening, Chevela's took home the National Tequila Day top honors for their signature Herradura cocktail, Pinche Lopez (Herradura Reposado, Barrows Ginger Liqueur, Bitterman's Burlesque Bitters, Muddled Kiwi, Guava Juice, Simple Syrup, Ginger Beer).
