This installment of the James Beard Foundation's monthly literary series puts the spotlight on author Kathy Gunst, who will read excepts from her most recent cookbook, Notes from a Maine Kitchen. The seasonally focused tome is organized by month; Gunst will focus on January and February ingredients and recipes, and discuss the challenges of eating seasonally during the cold months. She'll also offer insights into winter farmers' markets, and the Maine food scene in general. After the talk, stick around for a book signing (copies will be available for $27.50), plus sweet snacks from Three Tarts, such as a pistachio-cherry mini parfait, inside-out s'mores and lemon-curd minitarts.
