The Scrounger (Accattone)

Pasolini’s first film, on which Bernardo Bertolucci acted as an assistant director, is a largely plotless (and highly depressing) look at the denizens of Rome’s slums. The promise is evident, but in all honesty, it’s a bit of a wallow.
