The Deep Blue Sea

Davies's take on Terence Rattigan's tragi-romance is terrific whenever the director indulges in his evocatively dreamy set pieces (that tracking shot down the blitz-bombed subway tunnel…wow!). But then there's the story—about an upper-class British wife who leaves her husband for an RAF pilot—which is so timeworn it creaks. You will, however, be graced with the presences of Davies and lead actor Rachel Weisz at this special preview screening.
