Sixteen Candles

A fair amount of good dumb fun is undermined by (a) Molly Ringwald ending up with that boring, generic hunk instead of wily Anthony Michael Hall, and (b) one of the most offensive Asian stereotypes since Mickey Rooney played the grating Japanese neighbor in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
