Wurlitzer wrote this incredible revisionist take on the outlaw and the lawman who took him down, respectively played by Kris Kristofferson at his most hippieish and James Coburn at his most hard-ass-est. Some say this is Peckinpah’s greatest movie; they may very well be right.
