You might say it’s a variation on the old Prince and the Pauper bit: A con man (Vittorio De Sica) is forced to impersonate a revered—and recently deceased—Italian general. Except that this time, the “prince” is in prison, and if the imposter doesn’t pull it off, the Nazis will kill a number of the general’s resistance fighters. See it.
