The New Museum hosts a discussion to kick off “Rethinking the Imprint of Judson Dance Theater 50 Years Later: Movement Research in Residence,” a residency program curated by Travis Chamberlain. In advance of the gathering, Movement Research staff will collect questions about the impact that Judson Dance Theater continues to have on contemporary dance and performance; those questions will be up for discussion this afternoon. Ultimately, four questions will be chosen as focus topics for deeper exploration by artists nominated to lead a series of performances and open rehearsals at the New Museum. This is part of the institution's RE:NEW RE:PLAY residency series.
