Founded by modern dance titan José Limón in 1946, the company returns to the Joyce for the first time since Colin Connor took over as artistic director last year. On May 2 and 3 the troupe performs the Adam and Eve–themed The Exiles (1950), set to music by Arnold Schoenberg; on May 6 at 7, it performs the same piece newly set to commissioned music by Aleksandra Vrebalov. Other performances feature Chaconne (1942), which draws on Spanish-Mexican dance history and music by Bach. These main Limón offerings are buffeted by shorter works by the choreographer, as well as pieces by Connor and Kate Weare.
