Velez-Jackson, half of the wacky postmodernist performance duo Yackez, values humor, absurdity and vulnerability. Her new work, a collaboration with members of the Henry Street Settlement Senior Center, is a minimalist solo dance piece that touches on slippery questions of language, gentrification, cultural diversity and footwear.
