La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival 2017

La MaMa's annual festival runs riot with dance. Programs include White Wave's iyouuswe (May 18–21), which explores interpersonal relations; Stefanie Batten Bland's Welcome (May 25–28), a look at the uses and meanings of walls; Astad Deboo's Eternal Embrace (May 25, 26), a contemporary Indian dance piece inspired by a Punjabi poem; and Peggy Hoffbauer's Getting Away with Murder (June 2–4), which examines the historical mistreatment of women. Performances start at various times in multiple venues within the La MaMa complex.
