Dancers representing tribes such as the Hopi, Winnebago, Lenape, Kiowa, Choctaw, Mayan, Cherokee, Taino, Santo Domingo and Apache will perform during the annual Harvest Dance Celebration. The event's hosted by The Thunderbird American Indian Dancers at Queens County Farm Museum on Sunday, November 12.
Expect interactive storytelling through dance, music and activities while giving thanks for the summer harvest. Dancers will explain the origins of each dance as a way to connect visitors to Indigenous traditions.
The event also includes a Native American Food & Craft Market with traditional handcraft, artisanal instruments, vintage jewelry, ceramics, crystals, beadwork and textiles such as woven garments and embroidery. Visitors can enjoy a taste of traditional frybread, smoked meats and local fish and seafood from local tribes.
