Cion (Requiem of Ravel’s Boléro)

Presented under the aegis of the Prototype Festival, this opera-theater piece draws from Ravel's Bolero and Zakes Mda's novel Cion. South African choreographer Gregory Vuyano Maqoma creates the movement to accompany a cappella singing in the Isicathamiya style of the Zulu people.
