Drawn to the rigor of ballet and the humanism of modern dance, choreographer Cherylyn Lavagnino presents four works: Naděje ("Hope"), a premiere featuring live music by Egyptian pianist Mohamed Shams and violinist Jane Chung; Ru (2014), set to music by Scott Killian and inspired by Kim Thúy's novella of the same name; Snapshots (2010), an athletic work paired with Kyle Olson's percussion score; and Will (2009), set to a solo violin score composed and performed by Chung.
