This year's edition of the Beach Sessions Dance Series takes an offbeat approach to Tersichorean surf-and-turf: It's a site-specific work by choreographer Moriah Evans that stretches over six hours and 1.4 miles of Rockaway Beach shoreline, starting at Beach 86. More than 20 dancers are participating in the piece, which draws inspiration from the landscape as well as the social and physical interactions that come with it; experimental musician David Watson contributes a new composition for the 6pm finale at Beach 110. For illustrated instructions on how to participate, visit the Beach Sessions website.
