Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

Artistic director Robert Battle continues to present classics while introducing new choreography to the repertory of Alvin Ailey's venerable company, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2018. Offerings during its residency at City Center this year include Paul Taylor’s Duet, Jamar Roberts’s In a Sentimental Mood, a world premiere by Kyle Abraham, the company premiere of Twyla Tharp’s Roy’s Joys (1997) and a new production of Ailey’s Survivors (1986) and—plus, of course, the company's 1960 signature classic, Revelations, which concludes most of the programs.
