Time Out says

It's been one year since the revelations of the #metoo movement began, and, suffice it to say, our public figures have never been more disappointing. Fortunately, a new wave of warriors have emerged to speak truth to nonsense—among them TV's supreme paragon of high taste, Padma Lakshmi. The author, ACLU immigration ambassador and Top Chef host has furthered her evolution in public advocacy in 2018, by slamming President Trump and Louis CK via Twitter and penning a brave essay on surviving sexual assault for the New York Times. While taking CK to task for waltzing back into NYC comedy clubs, she gave unexpected public endorsement to the rising icons of NYC's alternative comedy scene—a surprise many of them will be giddily showing off for the next 50 years.

So, after tweeting in support of our favorite rising comedians—like Catherine Cohen, Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang—it looks like Lakshmi's giving them a job, too. On October 24, she hosts a dope comedy showcase featuring "comedians who are *not* Louis C.K." Go off, empress! Proceeds benefit the Movement Voter Project, which aligns donors to local community voting campaigns.

We've trusted Lakshmi's comedy chops since her immortal cameo on 30 Rock. But when it comes to this lineup, all we can say is: our compliments to the chef. On the bill are co-hosts Rogers and Yang, along with Cohen, Michelle Wolf, Roy Wood, Jr., Jo Firestone, Patti Harrison, Ziwe Fumudoh, Larry Owens and Pat Regan.

If you don't know any of these acts, buy your ticket now. Your in very good hands.
