"A solo show about embracing resiliency, Islam and dumb men," Halal Habibis centers on Lebanese comedian Hanan Issa and her journey to get married as a young Muslim woman born and raised in NYC. The one-woman performance delves into Hanan's childhood—she lost her mother at nine years old, a seismic event that shaped the comic’s attitude towards love, social relationships, and her own personal connection to religion—and highlights all of the "resiliency, hope, and delusions" that Issa has manifested ever since.
