North Coast, New York City’s premier hip-hop improv team, has long been known for their seamless melding of freestyle rapping and long-form improv comedy. But in the heat of Lin Manuel’s smash Broadway hit "Hamilton," people have been going bonkers for historical raps.
The North Coast team has heard the call and will transform the tales of fan-favorite historical figures into a factually-accurate improv. Anybody could be on the bill: Nikola Tesla, Ida B. Wells, Louisa May Alcott and more.
Artists for the show on August 10 at Caveat include Douglas Widick, Ralf Jean Pierre, Melanie Rubin, Billy Soco, Stephanie Rae, Dr. Brick, and pianist Jody Shelton.
