Zulu Nation Anniversary Party

The birthday parties keep coming, with Afrika Bambaataa tonight marking the 38th birthday of his seminal Universal Zulu Nation—the hip-hop collective that, in its early days, counted such pioneering figures as Jazzy Jay, G.L.O.B.E. and Kool DJ Red Alert among its citizens—at the almost-as-venerable S.O.B.'s. This all-star celebration features appearances from Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Melle Mel, DMC, Cold Crush Brothers, Bam himself and many more, with Q-Tip, Kid Capri, Jazzy Joyce and Lady Love among those rocking the wheels of steel.
