Toca Cielo's Three-Year Anniversary (slide show)

“Tribalism, to me, is the drum. It’s all about the drum,” JustinJustin Toca recent told TONY—and he puts that belief to the test at Toca Cielo, the monthly tribal-tech throwdown he helms with partner Monica Powell, and for which he serves as lead percussionist. The shindig marked its third anniversary at Cielo on Friday, May 24 via a night that featured a theme based on the The Warriors (hence all the Furies, Lizzies and whatnot on hand), with Sid Vaga and Steve Tek on the decks. The fiesta was a blast from start to finish, and shutterbug Filip Wolak was there to catch the action.
