Has it really been three decades since Zulu Nation's Afrika Bambaataa, producer Arthur Baker and keyboardist-coproducer John Robie (borrowing liberally from Kraftwerk) invented New York–style electro with the release of "Planet Rock"? Apparently so, as Bam is celebrating the seminal cut's birthday with a little help from Bobbito, house-head Todd Terry (whose own "Party People" borrows a bit from "Planet Rock"), Jump N Funk's Rich Medina, DJ Skribble and DJ Hektek, among other notable decksmiths.
