Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton: This Is Stones Throw Records

The Northside Festival screens Jeff Broadway's new documentary about Stones Throw Records. If the subject matter—one of the most innovative and quality-driven labels to hit hip-hop—doesn't pique your interest, perhaps the film's celebrity-heavy roster of interviewees will do the trick (it includes Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Common, Questlove, Talib Kweli, Mike D and Tyler, the Creator). Following the movie, Dana Bartle will moderate a Q&A with vinyl-loving DJs, and Amir, Natasha Diggs, the Twilite Tone and Duane Harriott will offer all-vinyl sets. As an added bonus, attendees get free admission to the late-night Biz Markie show.
