2016 was big for Groovy Groovy, with the DIY party hosting Bristol, U.K.-based artist Bruce (Livity Sound, Hessle Audio, Idle Hands, Hemlock) in October as well as Vancouver's Journeymann Trax (1080p) to close out the year. 2017 is proving to be even more promising; the party kicked off the new year with three of techno's finest artists (heavyweights representing Ilian Tape and Livity Sound) from across the pond. This month, a rare special guest takes the reigns—someone who, trust us, you won't want to miss. Brooklyn resident and modular technician-musician Antenes also tops this bill for what's sure to be an incredible, expertly curated set. Featured in the documentary I Dream of Wires, Antenes uses self-built sequencers and synths in all of her tracks, creating one-of-a-kind unique sounds augmented in her sets of "acid-laced techno, shimmering electro and beyond."
