Emma Olson, better known under her DJ alias Umfang, knows a thing or two about the electronic music industry. She's one of the founders of Discwoman, the Brooklyn collective currently at the forefront of female representation in the male-dominated electronic music industry—hosting events in New York (such as the recurring club-night Technofeminism), Detroit (for Movement festival), Montreal, San Juan and more. Additionally, Umfang is easily one of NYC's most talented female DJs on the rise, with regular bookings at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Palisades and Le Bain. Unafraid of traversing genre boundaries, Umfang's DJ sets often jump from deep house to experimental techno to drum & bass and jungle—definitely not to be missed on Output's pristine Funktion-One-laced sound-system.
