A movable feast laid out by fledgling New York record label and concert presenter Indexical, the Transient Festival presents three evenings of cutting-edge new music. The series starts in Williamsburg (but of course) on June 28 with a program that weds trombone quartet the Guidonian Hand to a string quartet, in pieces by Erik Carlson, Tyler Wilcox, Andrew C. Smith and Craig Shepard. "Bandwidth," the program on June 29, features intensely focused pieces by James Tenney, Anne Guthrie and Billy Gomberg, among others. Violin duo String Noise closes out the festival on June 30, celebrating Indexical's first release, the double LP Index 0.
