Lincoln Center Festival. A contemporary composer unafraid of drawing in boldly Romantic strokes, Lera Auerbach brings her inventive new opera to Lincoln Center in a bold conception directed by John La Bouchardière, with sound design by Jody Elff. The work loosely adopts a Maurice Maeterlinck play, stranding a dozen nameless characters on a desert island—and to intensify the experience of isolation, the audience will be blindfolded for the duration.
