Also known as the SOB, this local ensemble has demonstrated a knack for inventive programming. This week, it offers a mini-festival of gigs attuned to current trends in chamber music. Tonight, at South Oxford Space, members present the local premiere of red-hot composer Andrew Norman's sizzling piece The Companion Guide to Rome. Sets on Mar 27 and Mar 28 survey works by Chris Cerrone, Sofia Gubaidulina and Judd Greenstein. The Mar 29 concert at Roulette offers a pair of world premieres: one by the composer (and sometime doom-and-drone-electronic wizard) Mario Diaz de León, plus another by Manhattan School of Music faculty member Reiko Füting. Violist Miranda Sielaff and members of local new-music ensemble Contemporaneous will also be on hand to play works by John Harbison and Dylan Mattingly.
