Richard Tucker Day

New York honors native son and legendary opera star Richard Tucker—who would have been 100 on Aug 28—with a pair of high-profile concerts. At 2pm, Tucker Foundation grant recipients will sing popular arias at Richard Tucker Square (Broadway at 66th St), and at 7:30pm, Renée Fleming hosts a starry affair at the Naumburg Bandshell, with performances by young rising stars Ailyn Pérez, Jamie Barton, Stephen Costello, Angela Meade, Paul Appleby and Erin Morley.
