Composer-conductor Pierre Boulez, one of the grandest modernists we have, turns 90 this year. That means we're going to get more chances than usual to hear his wildly challenging (and, shhh, sometimes gorgeous) music in New York. The fascinating French pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who has performed with Boulez in concert, teams up with Tamara Stefanovich in order to play a massive concert of the composer's piano works. All three Piano Sonatas are on the bill, plus the Notations, as well as more recent miniatures.
