Juilliard Focus! 2013 Festival

Juilliard's annual midwinter new-music celebration turns its attention to England, termed the "land without music" by German critic Oscar Adolf Hermann Schmitz. That Schmitz was badly mistaken will become clear in an amazing survey of postwar sounds, opening Fri 25 with a New Juilliard Ensemble program featuring pieces by Jonathan Harvey, Alexander Goehr, Helen Grime, John Woolrich and Colin Matthews.
