It's appropriate that this stellar violinist is taking over a music school to celebrate the release of her newest project, In 27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores. The two-CD set compiles the works she's commissioned from a broad range of contemporary composers, as heard in fits and starts in her recitals of recent seasons; here, she'll play every one as part of an all-day music fair that also features composer chats and performances by Face the Music, the JACK Quartet, TILT Brass and others.
