Benjamin Hochman

Until now we've mostly heard the excellent pianist Benjamin Hochman in classic repertoire. Tonight's program sticks to that tried-and-true template, save that Hochman stretches the canon to embrace modern elaborations by Rzewski (The People United Will Never Be Defeated!), Berio (Cinque variazioni) and Oliver Knussen (Variations, Op. 24). Completing the bill is Tamar Muskal's Frederic Variations, offered in its world premiere.
