Relocated this year due to renovations at its usual haunts, and slightly shortened as a result, the mighty Marathon soldiers on with a nine-hour edition that still covers more stylistic waterfront than almost anyone else's entire season. Among the highlights: Alarm Will Sound plays Caleb Burhans at 1pm; Yungchen Lhamo and Anton Batagov enchant at some time around 4pm; the Talea Ensemble performs Hans Abrahamsen's haunting Schnee close to 6pm; and the Bang on a Can All-Stars do major works by David Lang and Michael Gordon between 7pm and closing time.
